Robust Control of a PMSG-Based Wind Turbine Generator Using Lyapunov Function

This paper proposes a robust finite-time controller (FTC) for permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG)-based wind turbine (WTG). An adaptive observer is used the rotor angle, speed, and torque estimations of PMSG, thus eliminating use anemometers. The robustness proposed FTC regarding parameter uncertainty external weak power grid analyzed. impacts short-circuit ratio (SCR) at point common coupling (PCC) on conventional proportional-integral (PI) are discussed. Case studies illustrate that observer-based able to estimate mechanical variables accurately provides control WTGs with grids.
